Congratulations Graduates !

Congratulations to all the UNCP graduate and undergraduate students who will be granted degrees this weekend.

Due to graduation ceremonies, the Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday and will not re-open until Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Monday also begins our summer hours, 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. t0 5 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and on Sundays the Library will be open 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Fall Faculty Showcase

The Friends of the Mary Livermore Library are hosting a FALL FACULTY SHOWCASE! Dr. Charles Beem will discuss his book The Foreign Relations of Elizabeth 1. Dr. Rose Stremlau will discuss her book Sustaining the Cherokee Family: Kinship and the Allotment of an Indigenous Nation. This program will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library. We hope to see you there.

Summer Hours

The Library has SUMMER HOURS:
Sunday: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

We will be closed on:
Saturday, May 28
Sunday, July 3

We will be open on:
Monday, May 30 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Monday, July 4 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

iPads have come to the library!

iPads have come to the library! 5 iPads are now available for circulation to UNCP students–try one out on us. iPads check out for 1 day at a time. IPads may be renewed IF there are no holds. Late charges for iPads are $25.00 per day. IPads 4 days late will be BILLED a replacement cost of $500.00.

Train Your Brain

Coming on February 1, 2011, a new program will unleash the secret powers hidden in the Mary Livermore Library. “Train Your Brain” is designed for participants to learn more about what the Library has to offer. At this session, the secrets of Learning Express Library will be exposed. Learning Express Library is a database that offers practice tests, exercises, and skill building courses to help anyone achieve. One of the practice tests provided is the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), the standard test required for admission into most graduate programs.
The second installment of the “Train Your Brain” series will be held on April 12, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. Participants will be introduced to Morningstar financial reports and real estate investment resources.
Students, staff, friends, and community members are welcome to participate in this discovery expedition series. If you want to “Train Your Brain,” then mark your calendar and join us in Room 203 of the Mary Livermore Library.
